Recreate the Fancy Cafe meme with this seven-beat, 21-second shot list. See who plays A and B, which guest sits on the table, and how to choose your photos.

The Fancy Cafe video template turns one seating mistake into a 21-second scene: Person A mistakes a tiny round table for a stool; Person B sits on the bench and uses the table for coffee. A notices, pauses, and quietly moves to the correct seat. The joke works because both people behave as though this is an ordinary café visit.
This page explains the template's choreography, casting and photo choices. For the trend's background and creator references, read what the Fancy Cafe meme means.
Who sits on the table? Person A and Person B
Person A is the first-timer. A starts on top of the small round table, with their feet on the low bench and a coffee in hand. This is the person who makes the mistake, spots it and climbs down. Put the person you want at the center of the joke in the first upload slot, A.
Person B is the regular. B enters later, sits on the long bench and puts their coffee on a small table. B does not point, laugh or explain. That ordinary action gives A—and the viewer—the information needed to understand the mistake. Use the second upload slot, B, to choose this person.
Only A's photo is required. Leave B empty for an AI-created second guest, or upload a separate photo to cast someone you choose. The swap control reverses the two uploaded roles. The café reference scene is already included, so you do not need to supply a background photo.

THE 21-SECOND SHOT LIST
One fixed camera, no dialogue, seven beats.
Every second is built around one misunderstanding; the joke lands in the pause, not the punchline.
| Time | Beat | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| 0.0–2.0s2 seconds | Set the scene | Fixed wide shot of a bare concrete café: a long low bench and a tiny round table. You are already sitting on the table, feet on the bench, cup in hand. |
| 2.0–6.0s4 seconds | The sip | You take a slow sip and look around the room, completely at ease. Nothing about this feels wrong to you. |
| 6.0–9.0s3 seconds | Arrival | Another guest walks in from the side, coffee in hand, and heads for the bench without a second glance at you. |
| 9.0–12.0s3 seconds | Silent demo | They sit down on the bench and set their cup on a small round table, exactly like the one you are sitting on. Not a word. |
| 12.0–15.0s3 seconds | Freeze | Your cup stops halfway to your mouth. Your eyes move from their cup, to the bench, to what you are sitting on. |
| 15.0–18.5s3.5 seconds | Climb down | Slowly and carefully, still holding your coffee, you climb down and take a seat on the bench beside them. |
| 18.5–21.0s2.5 seconds | Payoff | Two guests side by side, sipping in silence, as if nothing ever happened. Hold on the final frame. |
How to recreate the seven beats
Let the mistake look comfortable first. Use the opening 2 seconds to establish A's position, then give the relaxed sip 4 seconds. Show the little table and the bench together in a fixed wide shot. If A looks embarrassed immediately, the audience loses the moment of discovery.
Make B's entrance and seating separate actions. B arrives during seconds 6–9, then sits and sets the cup down during seconds 9–12. Keep B's reaction neutral. The reveal comes from the contrast between A sitting on a table and B using a matching table as intended.
Keep the pause before the move. During seconds 12–15, A's cup stops and their gaze connects B's cup, the bench and their own seat. Give the careful climb down 3.5 seconds, from 15 to 18.5. Finish with 2.5 seconds of both guests quietly sipping on the bench. A cut, a punchline or a big reaction at the end changes the understated joke.
The table describes the template's intended timing. In the generator, the scene and action sequence are already supplied: choose your cast rather than writing seven separate prompts. AI motion can vary between renders; review the result before posting.
How to choose photos for A and B
- Use one clearly visible person per photo, with a front-facing or slightly turned face. Keep the face large enough to recognize, sharply focused and evenly lit.
- Avoid sunglasses, hands covering the face, heavy filters and busy group photos. A clean identity reference matters more than matching the café background.
- Choose each photo for its assigned role. A performs the seating mistake and reaction; B provides the calm contrast. Check the previews before generating, and swap them if the casting is reversed.
- Upload JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 10 MB per photo. A is required; B is optional. The two photos do not need identical crops or matching backgrounds.
- Use photos you have permission to use. The uploaded image guides the person's appearance; it is not a promise that every clothing detail will remain identical.
